How You Can Win in a Recession by Lauren McLaughlin

As the story goes….the difference between recession and depression is recession is when someone else loses their job or business, and depression is when you lose yours. On a serious note though, so many people globally are being downsized or businesses are going under. This seems to be affecting everyone one way or another.

So what can you do to actually win during this time? The first thing is to completely focus on what you want to experience rather than what might happen or is happening. Whilst that will probably be challenging when you’ve got the mortgage, school fees and the phone bill to pay it is an absolute must. We get what we focus on. Things happen and sometimes it’s hard to understand ‘why’. It’s like well “I didn’t focus on losing my job, but I did”. Yes that may be right – wonder though been watching the news lately? All about recession and people losing their jobs isn’t it? It gets set up in your mind right there. Instead of spending all your energy on finding out the ‘why’ change your language to ‘why not’ – look at doing something you’ve always wanted to do. Maybe it’s traveling, learning to paint or write, working with kids, working with cars or boats.

Understanding you may not have the money right now to do what you have always wanted, but here is the key: focus on what you want. That means taking action on what you want to do. It may be you go to the travel agent and start to plan a trip to Paris – the trip you’ve always wanted to do. It may be getting a magazine and looking at the cars for sale, the ones that you could totally restore. What this does is set you up vibrationally to attract those things into your life. More importantly your resonance will be in free flow and not fear. It’s the fear that continues the downward spiral of negative thoughts etc about a recession. By feeling happy and content working towards doing stuff you love makes you more attractive to others….which in turn means you have a much greater possibility of getting that job or starting that business…

To win you have to focusing on winning above all else. Sometimes people think entrepreneurs are just lucky – LUCK stands for Labor under Correct Knowledge. Entrepreneurs find the money to do what they want. Their whole thinking is that they can do what they set out to do – no matter what the circumstances or obstacles that appear on their path. The obstacles and challenges are part of the journey to success and wining in a recession. They take these in their stride but do not focus on them.

So take action now and find that thing that you’ve always wanted to do, start to research and ‘feel’ the feelings associated with this passion. Feeling good is the key to new doors opening. Sometimes people get so focused on the door that is closed that the new door opens and they miss it completely.

Make the choice today do something anything, even if it’s daydreaming or doing some visualization on what you love to do. Focus on what you are passionate above all else and the things you start attracting during this recession will allow you to win every time. www.secretstohomebusiness.com

What is “The Secret” and does it work?

What is “The Secret” and does it Work?

The Secret was written by Australian Rhonda Byrne and released as a movie on DVD in 2006. The main premise of this book is that ‘our thoughts create our reality’.
We as humans are creatures of habit. Our thoughts become habitual – have you ever found yourself having the same thought over and over again? I bet you can recall an experience that you have had over and over again also. They go hand in glove – a thought is a thing and thoughts manifest into physical reality. As Lisa Nicols who appeared in the Secret says “What you think about you bring about”.

You may find yourself saying ‘I wasn’t thinking of having a disagreement with my spouse this morning’ so why did we have this disagreement? There is always that part of ourselves that wants to blame the other person for ‘how we are feeling’. The truth is that no one makes us feel anything – we do that all for ourselves. Focusing on what we appreciate about our spouse, rather than what we resist or don’t like about them, will shift our own vibration into the positive. The Secret suggests that as you lift your own vibration you will not be attracting ‘that argument’. In other words you just won’t buy into what is being argued about or you physically will not be in their hemisphere when they are upset.

The good news is that the opposite is also true, by using visualizations and affirmations on a consistent basis you can attract that reality that you prefer. For example you want to create a new home. So using the tools talked about in the Secret you would begin visualizing that new home complete with the furniture, aspect, size, colours, feelings, people etc. that the new home comes with. To really create you need to take it one step further and feel and see the new home, and also act and believe that you are already in possession of your new home.

Here’s the step that can make the difference of whether you get what you’re wanting or not. What creeps in during the lag of time between deciding on what we want, then visualizing, affirming and taking action to what we want? DOUBT – this is when some time has passed and the new house hasn’t arrived yet. So unconsciously we start thinking about how the house has not manifested yet, then we start to question what we are doing wrong? Why it’s not working for us and so forth. What happens is we start resonating with the doubt rather than resonating with the new fabulous house that we want to manifest. The key is; you must continue to believe, affirm and visualize that house as if it’s already in your possession. Remember we are creatures of habit so the natural thing for our mind to do is to go back to the ‘original thinking’ of before we starting visualizing etc the new house.

Affirmation, visualizations need to be practiced on a daily basis. As we all live busy lifestyles and going ‘within’ to do the inner work can feel at first like we are not achieving anything. Given our ‘instant gratification’ lifestyle we expect things instantly. The process of creating the reality you prefer takes time and practice. Remember those thoughts you’ve had running around your mind may have been there for many years they don’t just disappear overnight, rather - as you focus on new thoughts the old thinking becomes less ingrained and the new thinking becomes more etched in your mind. As we’ve established thoughts have energy and thoughts become things. Keep focused on what you’re choosing to create and once you create it you’ll wonder how you were ever without it!

The Shadow Self

The Shadow Self by Lauren McLaughlin

The Shadow self was first revealed to me back in 1996 when I first took the Avatar Course. The learning here was that what we ‘project’ into the world can be disowned or denied aspects of ourselves. We disown these aspects because there is negative judgment associated with them. For example you’re raised by parents that believe it’s not acceptable to show anger. Anytime anger is shown in the household the individual is shunned or ignored. That individual then locks in neurologically at that point – ‘don’t show anger or you will be abandoned’ in other words ‘it’s not safe to feel or show anger’.

Anger is a normal human emotion and is necessary for our survival. On the map of consciousness anger calibrates at 150 which is way above fear ‘100’ or grief ‘75’. One wants to have their energy calibrating as high as possible. Love for example calibrates at 500. The challenge is that if the person is conditioned to not feel or show anger they may calibrate much lower and not get up past the anger. The anger that is in their body then becomes part of their ‘shadow self’. You may have experienced someone who seems quite passive yet they are married to someone who seems ‘frustrated’ or ‘angry’. Welcome the shadow. Instead of acting out the anger themselves they’ve attracted it in their partner.

Our shadow for the most part is unconscious. A way to learn what some of your shadow is begin the sentence “I would never….” Bingo that’s it. It’s quite often that thing that we despise in another that is a repressed part of ourselves. In the movie ‘The Shadow Effect’ released June 2009 by Debbie Ford we learn that we can effectively lives much more rewarding joy filled lives if we learn to own these denied aspects of self. As we own these parts a more holistic self emerges, a self that free of judgments and therefore less separate than before, more connected to ‘all that is’.

Dr. Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961), Swiss psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology stated “Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves”. Be aware though owning our shadow does not happen overnight. It takes considerable learning and learning to develop self-awareness to own our shadow parts.
As Jung quotes
”The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge.”

The only way to be with the ‘light’ within ourselves is to face the ‘dark’ or unconscious aspects of ourselves. The feelings and emotions in our shadow want to be felt. What you can feel you can heal. By facing the dark, fearful places within ourselves that we don’t let others see we can become free. In this freedom, new gifts and talents that once were latent may come to the surface, physical healings may occur and most importantly you will be more aligned with the truth of who you are shadow and all. www.secretstohomebusiness.com

Today’s world is full of possibilities that could only be dreamed of by our parent’s generation. In a few short years communication technology has turned the average home into a well equipped global office. Social networking sites such as facebook and twitter have given the Internet mass appeal across many generations.

E – Commerce is now big business and the internet has created a level playing field that gives every business, large or small, the same opportunity for success. Home businesses are starting up in just about every country around the world and have become a viable way to create a successful business.
It costs tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars to set up and run a conventional business. Running a home based business on the other hand can cut costs dramatically. The Internet has the potential to reach customers from all around the world for a fraction of what a traditional business would spend. The Internet has come of age and just about everyone on the planet uses the internet for purchases, research, and employment amongst many other things. The slogan now is if you want something just ‘google it’.
Consumers around the world are spending over $ US 9,000,000,000 a year in commerce transactions over the Internet. We are still in the early stages of this growth cycle and the demand is expected to grow even faster in the near future. There is no such thing as ‘job security anymore’. Smart people are looking for other options, options that suit the lifestyle they want and they are creating it through legitimate and ethical home based business such as the one you are looking at now.
One needs to be self motivated and disciplined to have success at working at home as there is no ‘boss’ to check up on you to see if you’re doing what needs to be done. It’s important to look and utilize mentors throughout your journey – Work with someone who’s already doing the business and having success, learn from them and duplicate what they are doing, always though, put your own flair to what you’re doing.
The Personal Development industry has been around for many years. Personal Development has been featured on the Ellen De Generes show, Larry King Live and has featured on Oprah many times. As people continue to strive for better results in life they lean more and more to work with coaches, mentors and trainers that can take their businesses to the next level. The industry has become so popular that over 19 billion US dollars worth of products were sold worldwide last year alone.

The Nine Personality Types - The Enneagram

The Nine Personality Types – The Enneagram
By Lauren McLaughlin

The Dictionary definition of the Enneagram is “A system of spiritual psychology based on an ancient Sufi typology of nine personality types or primary roles with the recognition of one’s type tantamount to a spiritual awakening.

We’re all searching for ‘something’ in life. It may be that soul connection with that someone special, the career that expresses who we are at a deep level, or that child we’ve been yearning to have and wonder if we ever will. If we take a step back from all the different ‘things’ outside of us that we are looking for we may find truth in the idea that what we really yearn for is ‘to know who we are and why we are here’. After the initial rush of a new romance or a couple of months spent in a new car we may find ourselves yearning again for the next thing. All of these things have their place in life, however they do not address that illusive soul connection to self above all else which the masters would define as ‘enlightenment’.

The Enneagram is based on the premise that we all incarnate with a ‘soul wounding’ and we spend the rest of our lives living through a filter that effectively hides that wounding from our external world. Each personality type, there are nine in total, comes also with its’ own unique gifts and talents. What would life be like if we knew our personality type and could learn to navigate our relationships with others by understanding their personality type? At a guess we would probably have smoother, more loving and compassionate experiences with others and also ourselves.

For example let’s say you’re a 2 (The Helper) and you’re in love with an 8 (The Challenger). The 8’s basic fear is for other’s to have power over them in any area of life. 8’s can have trouble opening up to that someone special as they feel their lover will have power over them, which ignites their basic fear of others holding power over them. The 8’s basic desires are to protect themselves and to determine their own course in life. 2’s basic fear is being unworthy or unloved and their desire is to ‘feel loved’. 2’s are the caring, generous interpersonal type. They love to be involved in people’s lives and this can work well for the 8. While the 8 takes the world on the 2 can be the support crew. Under stress the 2 will go to 8 which would indicate that deep down 2 also has a lot of power. To integrate the 8 will go to 2 and open their loving, caring and intimate side this then fulfills the 2’s needs of being needed and loved. In the healthy ranges this can be a powerful match indeed.

The nine types are 1. The Reformer – Can lead through integrity and reason OR be hindered by perfectionism and resentment. 2. The Helper – Can shine with generosity and healing power OR struggle with people-pleasing and possessiveness. 3. The Achiever – Can become an inspiring example of excellence and authenticity OR blindly pursue success and status. 4. The Individualist – Can model creativity and intuitive power OR be held back by moodiness and self-consciousness. 5. The Investigator – Can demonstrate visionary intellect and inventiveness OR become increasingly eccentric and isolated. 6. The Loyalist – Can exemplify courage and commitment OR struggle with anxiety and rebelliousness. 7. The Enthusiast – Can become highly accomplished and spirited OR be waylaid by impulsiveness and impatience. 8. The Challenger – Can be a powerful, magnanimous leader OR control and intimidate others. 9. The Peacemaker – Can bring people together and heal conflicts OR be held back by passivity and stubbornness. Too learn your type go to www.EnneagramInstitute.com.

What to look for in a home based business

Does the company have some longevity behind it? Listen to testimonials of the people that are getting results in the business. Look for people who have been doing the business for at least one - two years and then others who have been involved for a few months or more – are they getting results?

Products

What are the products being marketed? Get clear on what they are and ask yourself if you would use them. Would they appeal to other people? Again, listen to the testimonials of the people that have experienced the products what are their comments? What are the worldwide sales of this type of product i.e. what available market is there and more importantly is the market growing? What are the trends of this type of product? Can you market the products internationally or are you restricted to the country you are in.

Information

Information should be provided free of charge when you are looking at a home based business. Notice the person you’re speaking to about the business: are they passionate about what they are doing – do they seem the type of person you would like to work with and be mentored by.

Investment

There will always be costs associated with your home based business. You will also need to have time to put in your business. You need to ask yourself if you are willing to put time effort and investment into your home based business. Like any other business it does require effort to be successful. The difference with a home based business compared to a traditional business is that the start up costs will be a lot less than say a franchise. You may expect to pay $300,000 upwards for a franchise and may not get a return for the first or second years. With a home based business providing you work at it and follow the system you can have returns very quickly.

Support

Find out how much support is on offer. Many companies offer support you need to find out exactly what type of support it is – does the company offer any type of training, how convenient is it to access the training? Is there a system to follow and most importantly is it simple to use.

Questions to ask yourself

Why do you want a home based business? You will need to have some strong desires and goals to want to have your own home business?

Are you self motivated and disciplined? Or do you want to learn how to become these things?

Are you willing to do what it takes to take you from where you are now to a possible unlimited income?
